Introduction to the TBTR project
Tbilisi Bypass Toll Road (TBTR) Public Private Project (PPP) shall be privately owned & financed Highway, bypassing the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi & connecting Western, Eastern Highways with the Northern and Southern Main Roads.
The TBTR development project allows the continuously growing heavy traffic to reach the western ports and connect into Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran and Russia without passing through Tbilisi. The highway shall be managed on the basis of charging toll fees using the latest toll collection technologies.
The highway will have a length of [50] km and include [4] tunnels and [18] bridges. The private company will either acquire required state owned lands in accordance with existing Georgian legislation or alternatively request a government concession that will match at least the length of the proposed financing plus a positive exploitation period.
